Sanitary Plug Valve

Design

Hygienic Plug Valves contains of a stainless steel body and a conical plug that is rotated in the body to stop or divert the flow, most sanitary divert valves cannot be used as a shut off valve.

 

Its valve plug can be a cylindrical shape or conical shape. A sanitary 3 way plug valve is available in SS 304 and SS 316L. Rubber o rings sit in the groove at the top and bottom of the plug. Seal materials are normally available in Teflon, Silicone, or Viton. Dairy plug valves usually come SMS coupling connections, but other less commonly used sanitary union connections can be requested.

Method of Operation

Turn the handle rotates the conical plug inside the valve to divert and shut off flow.
