Tri Clamp Union (Ferrule Coupling)

The Tri Clamp Union, sometimes call a ferrule union or ferrule coupling, is comprised of a Clamp Ring, two ferrules, and a tri clamp seal.

The easiest way to identify a Clamp Union is its + shaped Gasket. There is another less commonly used sanitary clamp gasket with an additional envelope called the flange type gasket.

The clamp union is very commonly applied in the sanitary industry alongside the SMS Coupling because of its ease of disassembly. There are several commonly used standards in the industry, some of them share the same clamps and seals.
