Sanitary Two Piece Body Ball Valve

Design

Our two piece body is smaller and lighter than the three piece body design. It uses a spherical ball with a bored-through port. When the port aligns with the pipeline, product flows freely. A 3-way configuration is also available for mixing and diverting. Material options include SS 304 and SS 316L, and standard end connections are weld or ferrule (tri-clamp) ends. ​Hygienic two piece body ball valves have fewer components compared to three piece body types, so they are easier to clean and maintain.

Method of Operation

A quarter turn of the handle rotates the ball between open and closed. Because the handle position matches the port orientation, you can tell the valve's status at a glance. They can be used in both horizontal and vertical applications.

Automation

For automation, these valves can be fitted with an actuator and switch. But most two piece body ball valves do not come with ISO mounts. The double rack and pinion pneumatic actuator are the most common.

CIP Cleanability 

Construction in SS 304 and SS 316L with food grade seals and the tri-clamp or weld end connection is what qualifies these valves as food grade. The cavity behind the ball can still trap product residue that CIP flow sometimes cannot reach, therefore periodic disassembly and cleaning is still required.
